5 Hidden Paradises You Must Visit While in Labuan Bajo
Labuan Bajo is well-known for its natural beauty and the Komodo dragon, an old, rare, and almost extinct dragon from Komodo Island in East Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Besides, some time ago, Labuan Bajo was even chosen as one of the venues for the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023.
Apart from Komodo Island, here are five hidden paradises you must visit while in Labuan Bajo!
1. Batu Cermin Cave
Mirror Stone Cave or in Indonesian it is called Gua Batu Cermin is a cave which according to history was initially located on the seabed and then rose to the surface due to an earthquake. This is evidenced by the walls’ cave that is filled with coral fossils and turtle fossils on the cave ceiling.
If you visit the cave, you will see sunlight entering the sidelines of the cave which adds to the aesthetic value of the cave. The cave is located in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Musa Tenggara.
2. Rangko Cave
If you want to go to a peaceful, quiet, comfortable atmosphere, and far from the city air, you have to visit Rangko Cave. Rangko Cave is one of the newly discovered tourist sites, therefore there are still not many tourists who don’t know about this place. With the view and charm of the sea cave with spotless and clear water, you will find a peaceful cave atmosphere.
During the day, sunlight will enter through the gaps in Rangko Cave and you can enjoy the atmosphere while looking at the corals in Goa.
3. Koaba Island
Have you ever seen a big bat in Indonesia that is called Kalong? It turns out that apart from Komodo dragons, Labuan Bajo is also a habitat for bats. The bat lives on an island in the Mbeliling, a protected forest area in Labuan Bajo, namely Koaba Island.
Considering that Koaba Island is famous for its dense forests, it is unsurprising that various types of bats live on Koaba Island and even become home to predators such as pythons. Therefore when you visit, it is advisable to have a guide to get around the island. Do you have any plans to go to Koaba Island?
4. Cunca Rami Waterfall
5. Kelor Island
Kelor Island is an uninhabited island that you should not miss when visiting Labuan Bajo. This is usually a place for visitors to climb hills or snorkel. Even though the road to the top of Kelor Hill is quite steep, you will be made to forget when you reach the top. Apart from climbing, you can also explore underwater beauty and you will find many types of fish and coral reefs there.
Those are the 5 tourist recommendations for those of you who want to go for a holiday or just travel to Indonesia, especially in Labuan Bajo. Labuan Bajo is waiting for your arrival! So, explore now, or regret it later!
