MOSCOW, 30/05 – In a historic moment for global youth collaboration, the Indonesia Youth Foundation (IYF) officially represented Indonesia in forming the International Association of Children’s Organisations (IACO).
Backed by Russia’s Movement of the First, IACO unites youth organizations from 11 countries to build a global platform for children and youth development. The founding ceremony in Moscow included representatives from Indonesia, Venezuela, South Africa, Malaysia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Algeria, Belarus, and an organization for Eurasia. One organization from each nation represented its country, and its leader signed the foundational agreement.
Rainasyia Zafira Represents IYF in IACO Founding Ceremony
Rainasyia Zafira, President of IYF, represented Indonesia in the ceremonial signing and helped shape IACO’s core structure and direction. IYF now serves as a founding council member, playing a key leadership role in the alliance’s early development. “We are honored to bring the voice of Indonesian youth to the global stage,” said Rainasyia Zafira. “We envision IACO as a platform where young people worldwide collaborate, share resources, and create real change in their communities.”
At the Moscow meeting, representatives of 11 founding countries discussed IACO’s formation, focusing on its structure, charter, and mission. Then, they explored plans for youth-led programs and strategies for resource sharing—such as access to mentorship, training, and funding. Meanwhile, IYF strongly emphasized the importance of intercultural collaboration, specifically advocating for initiatives that connect young people from diverse backgrounds. Ultimately, the goal was to encourage them to learn from one another and co-create meaningful, community-driven projects.
With the creation of IACO, IYF volunteers will gain access to collaborative international programs, peer-to-peer learning, and global exposure. IACO’s mission is to support local initiatives with global resources, empowering young people especially from underserved communities to bring their ideas to life.
In the coming months, IACO will host online meetings to finalize its structure and open membership to youth organizations worldwide. All programs under IACO will focus on children and youth empowerment across the globe. “We hope this initiative will not only uplift Indonesian youth but also strengthen cross-cultural unity across Southeast Asia and beyond,” added Rainasyia. The Indonesia Youth Foundation actively shaped the future of international youth cooperation as a member of IACO’s founding council.
