Sustainability Sparks Breakthrough Action at the Green Event
Indonesia Youth Foundation successfully held its first IYF Upgrading Program 2025 on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Carrying the theme “Meet The Little Voice Inside Your Head”, this program encouraged young people to reconnect with their inner voice amid social pressures and workplace demands.
IYF Upgrading with Kathleen Rachel
The program opened with a session led by Kathleen Rachel, S. Psi, Master of Public Health at the Australian National University. Participants are guided to understand how stress works, how emotions influence decisions, and how to manage them in a healthy way.
The session also emphasized the importance of seeking help when needed. Gabriella, a participant from External Affairs Indonesia Studies, shared insight from the session: “It’s okay to reach out for help. However, when facing serious mental health concerns, it’s important to consult professionals such as psychologists or psychiatrists, who can provide accurate guidance and support.”
Breakout Discussions: A Safe Space for Sharing with IYF Upgrading
In addition to the session, participants took part in breakout room discussions that allowed them to express personal feelings and experiences. One of IYF’s youngest members noted, “I gained so much support from older members with more experience. Everyone was so supportive, and that really made me happy.” These discussions provided not only learning opportunities but also a safe space for reflection, sharing, and emotional support.

Art Therapy: Expressing Emotions through Doodles
The next session was art therapy, where participants were encouraged to express their raw emotions through doodles. Unlike the regular art practices, this session emphasized free expressions with patterns, shapes, and colors. Participants were to check on their emotions and appreciate their creations without judgement.

The program concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants actively asked questions, shared insights, and reflected on the topics discussed, highlighting the relevance of the program to their current needs.
IYF Upgrading’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment
Through the IYF Upgrading 1 Program, participants learned practical skills in mindfulness, stress management, and emotional intelligence. By taking moments to pause, listen to themselves, and respond mindfully, they can approach challenges more calmly, make conscious decisions, and maintain balance in their daily lives.
Annisa Bunga, Head of Human Resources at IYF, expressed her hope that the program would continue to serve as an enjoyable and meaningful space for personal development. “We aim to introduce more themes relevant to young people’s lives and hope even more participants can benefit from the program’s positive impact,” she said.
